O’Neill Development is a construction, remodeling, and development firm that has been active in the DMV. Founded in 1975 by Brendan O’Neill Sr, the legacy continues with Brendan O’Neill Jr, ensuring the same dedication to quality and customer service. The company has custom-built or remodeled over 375 homes of various sizes, including four residential themed communities. Each of the homes that O’Neill has built remains unique, because O’Neill Development has never built the same house plans twice. O’Neill Development has been recognized for its high-quality custom work in both national and local publications and has received awards of excellence for its historic restoration and urban infill work from the State of Maryland and local jurisdictions. O’Neill was the first in this region to build to Passive House standards and remains committed to best practices in green building.

MANAGEMENT

O’Neill Development specializes in custom residential work, providing extensive pre-construction and construction services. For the client, this means a broad band of help in budgeting, architect selection, design development, and problem solving during the critical early stages of planning; careful management by agenda and strict site control during the construction period; and thorough after-market service.

TEAMWORK

In all custom work performed, the O’Neill Development Manager believes in teamwork and transparency, particularly stressing the importance of a strong relationship among the client, architect, builder, and subcontractor. It is our firm belief that this close connection among all parties is absolutely necessary for a successful project. The company continually evaluates subcontractors and suppliers and selects a team that meets our required nexus of quality, dependability, and fair pricing.

COMPANY ORGANIZATION

O’Neill Development employs a talented and dedicated staff who manage the office and handle the job files and selections. Experienced project managers are responsible for site-managing individual projects. Once assigned to a job, the managers remain committed until completion of the work and punch out. Aftermarket service is the responsibility of each project manager when their job is completed. Our project managers represent over 115 years of building and management experience. A dedicated office staff handles the tracking and office control of each job. In a high turnover industry such as construction, O’Neill Development is unusual in its employee tenure. The average employment length for the entire company is over 20 years.
